Those who enjoy urban exploration are no strangers to making strange or unexpected discoveries.
Two individuals – wishing to remain unnamed – were exploring the Middleton mine in Derbyshire Dales when they chanced upon something quite “unimaginable”: an unused film location.

Containing a retro-themed blue and white US coach, a raised platform, a car lift, a touring trailer, and lighting schematic, they believe the location was used in the 2025 Marvel movie The Fantastic Four: First Steps, as well as Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning.
The pair stated that “two individuals that were instrumental in helping the personnel and the cast” from the production had given them this insight.
One remarked: “I’m normally keen to discover interesting objects, but I’ve never unearthed a film set prior.

“We were moving forward with our flashlights and all of a sudden we came across this space all erected and an aged American bus simply there.

“The lighting apparatus was there on scaffolding and a diagram showing the desired placement of all the illumination.”, according to the Mirror.
“It’s very odd to see an elevator carriage just situated in the centre of a road, alongside a stage area in front of the bus.

“There existed a multitude of machinery they had employed to arrange the scene, along with a hut containing a microwave and a kettle.
“There was an array of pipes they had employed to maintain clean air – there is a risk concerning radon gas down there.
“Witnessing the film set was quite remarkable – it was far from what we had initially anticipated.
“I understand that filming for Lord of The Rings occurred there, along with Mission Impossible.”
The 2025 hit film, The Fantastic Four: First Steps, featured Pedro Pascal starring as Mister Fantastic, accumulating a staggering $521.9 million and receiving acclaim from the fanbase.

Taking place within the era of the 1960s, the film showcases the endeavors of Mister Fantastic and his family as they reconcile their heroic roles with domestic obligations, whilst also defending against the cosmic menace presented by Galactus and his enigmatic Harbinger, Silver Surfer, as stated within Rotten Tomatoes’ synopsis.
The prominent cast further involves Vanessa Kirby embodying Invisible Woman, Mister Fantastic’s super-powered companion, Joseph Quinn acting as the Human Torch, alongside Ebon Moss-Bachrach appearing as The Thing.
