Many people do not think about which way their head is facing while sleeping. Meanwhile, supporters of the most ancient teachings are convinced that going to bed with their head to the west is dangerous, informs Ukr.Media.
According to Vastu Shastra
The Hindu tradition of Vastu Shastra recommends not going to sleep with your head to the north. Supporters of the doctrine believe that a person in this position resonates with the magnetic waves of the planet. However, the energy of the planet is much stronger than the field of any individual earthly being. If you fall asleep with your head to the north and your feet to the south, the planet's field will “suck” energy from the weak human field. As a result, this can weaken and even lead to gaps in the protective shell of the body.
Also, according to Vastu Shastra, sleeping with your head to the west is harmful. This threatens to worsen sleep. After waking up, opposing magnetic fields make a person feel bad. Sleeping with your head to the west makes a person emotionally unstable, irritable and depressed. In addition, such a night's rest worsens a person's physical condition: headaches appear and blood pressure increases.
Vastu Shastra recommends sleeping with your head facing south or east – this will improve your well-being and sleep quality.
According to Feng Shui
But according to the rules of Feng Shui, the head of the sleeper should be directed to the north, the feet to the south, in accordance with the natural energy currents (electromagnetic waves) of the Earth. By placing the head to the north, a person seems to resonate with the natural magnetic field of the planet, energy enters the head and flows out of the feet. And a person, thus, “feeds” on planetary cosmic energy.
Scientific view
Specialists from Harvard University conducted a study of sleep physiology. During the experiment, scientists raised the question of the best direction relative to the poles of the Earth during a night's rest. The study involved 30 volunteers from different age groups and segments of the population. It turned out that the position of the body during sleep does not affect its quality. Scientists only noted that very tired people unconsciously chose the eastern direction for rest.
But still, individual preferences and comfort are crucial. You should not betray your habits, as this can lead to a deterioration in the quality of sleep, which will have a bad effect on your health.
