A devout woman who feels sure that the Rapture is imminent (today, Wednesday, September 24) has turned to social media to share the great lengths she has gone to prior to the return of the Lord Jesus Christ.
This comes following a forecast by a South African clergyman who suggested the world’s conclusion will be upon us on September 23 or 24. The prediction originates from Joshua Mhlakela, a pastor who disseminated what he calls a “divine revelation” through a YouTube video and a TV appearance.

Mhlakela asserts that Jesus manifested to him in a vision and revealed the exact moment of his return – an occurrence that Mhlakela believes will coincide with Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year. “The rapture is approaching, whether you’re prepared or not,” he declared. “I saw Jesus seated on his throne, and I could hear him clearly saying, I am returning shortly. He told me that on the 23rd and 24th of September 2025, I will come back to Earth.”
The prediction quickly captured the attention – and trepidation – of numerous Christians on TikTok, many of whom are diligently getting ready for the Second Coming. Among them is American, Melissa Johnston, who has posted multiple videos illustrating her preparatory efforts.
“I’m doing things to ready my house for whoever remains after the Rapture,” she stated in one video. Melissa has created numerous flowcharts “based on the Seven Seals and Seven Trumpets” – a sequence of apocalyptic symbols and angelic sounds described in the Book of Revelation in the New Testament.

In another video, Melissa disclosed her preparatory purchases, starting with a “WaterBob”, a water storage device that holds up to 100 gallons of clean potable water in a regular bathtub for emergency situations.

Melissa also stated she has stocked up on essential medications needed afterward, which she has hidden in containers inside a cabinet. “We also possess a nebulizer and access to our basement where we have gathered our food supplies,” she added.
Showing shelves and containers brimming with durable goods for prospective inhabitants, Melissa exclaimed: “Someone’s going to be well-equipped.” Meanwhile, in a separate video, she detailed the extent of her efforts to amass Bibles “for those who are left behind”.
“I acquired these at the Dollar Tree,” Melissa shared, presenting the Bibles, each adorned with a sticker stating: ‘Jesus loves you. It’s not too late, take this Bible, seek out other believers. Be wary of who you trust. Do not accept the mark on your hand or forehead.’ Melissa also mentioned that she had carefully bookmarked several “key scriptures” including Romans 10:9 and John 3:16 in each book.

Hopefully these books reach those who are in need,” she concluded.
One doubter inquired of Melissa: “If nothing transpires, how will you explain it away?” She responded: ” I’ll simply accept it. Carry on with my life and continue sharing the gospels in a non-judgmental manner with love and compassion as I always have.”
Another person wondered: “What will you do with all the additional books when you awaken in your own bed following the rapture?” Melissa conceded: “That’s a profound thought. I have given it much consideration. If all Christians are taken and I am left, I understand I must prepare those remaining for the trials ahead.”
In the United States, where these videos frequently originate, end-times beliefs are fairly common.
According to a 2022 study from the Pew Research Center, almost half of all Christians in the US, approximately 47 percent, answered yes when questioned about their belief that “we are experiencing the end times.”
