An individual devised a strategy to settle a dispute with the occupant of the adjacent property – implementing the same small act of retaliation each year.
Their plan commenced after their former neighbour was accused of administering poison to their family pet a decade ago. The homeowner anonymously revealed on Reddit that their land and garden were situated at a higher elevation than their neighbour’s, which triggered the original issues.

When they irrigated their garden, the water would run down the incline onto her yard, subsequently “killing her plants”. The dispute continued for months, but the homeowner disregarded any animosity, as they and their family were planning to move.
However, the situation escalated when the resident, then a 12-year-old, returned home from school and discovered their cat deceased near the entrance. A message on the r/Neighborsfromhell Reddit page stated: “We took her to the vet, and they verified that she had been poisoned.
“Our neighbour was the only conceivable suspect. Upon our return home, my mother confronted our neighbour. Our neighbour responded by saying ‘it’s not nice when your things die.’ My entire family was devastated.

“My neighbour believed she had the last laugh; however, I bear grudges and I was a particularly wicked child.” The homeowner was “extremely angry” and spent several days trying to develop a plan to get even.”

They waited until after they had moved from the residence and enlisted the help of a friend who owned a dog. They then devised a scheme to spread the dog’s excrement on the neighbour’s automobile and front door.
That wasn’t the extent of it – the retribution continued once the teenager earned her driver’s licence. They began driving past the woman’s house to hurl eggs at it every Halloween.
In the title of the Reddit message, the user wrote: “My neighbor killed my cat 11 years ago and I am still getting back at her.”
The message has received over 200 responses on the platform. While this homeowner was praised for taking action regarding their beloved pet, some individuals think they could have gone further.

One commented: “Want a simple trick? Purchase fish and toss [them] on the roof. They would slide down into the gutters, and some remain on the roof. The odor will torment her.”
Another added: “Scatter a few handfuls of beef bouillon cubes in the yard before a heavy rain. Every dog in the vicinity will be digging in the yard searching for a snack.”
A third user stated: “You should subscribe her to all possible junk mail.”
Others applauded the resident for exacting retribution. One exclaimed: “Well done! I’m pleased you avenged your cat. Your cat is smiling from above.”
The Metropolitan Police advises that if you witness or suspect someone of mistreating an animal, you should report it to the RSPCA. The police force works alongside the animal welfare organization to investigate instances of animal cruelty.
