“Parents often underestimate how much of an impact a few weeks without structured learning can have on a child’s academic performance.
I would recommend encouraging daily reading by allowing children to choose books that they are genuinely interested in, whether it be comics, magazines or stories. You can also turn everyday activities into teachable moments, such as using cooking to learn math or gardening to learn science.
Educational apps are also very useful, especially on long trips: they make learning fun. Interesting visits to museums or zoos are another great way to support your child’s curiosity. And if you need a short break, consider summer tutoring: these are tailored to your child and allow them to learn without pressure.
