OpenAI has unveiled the ChatGPT agent, an updated version of its core artificial intelligence (AI) model that includes a virtual computer and a built-in toolkit.

These new features allow the agent to perform complex, multi-step tasks that were not possible with previous versions of ChatGPT – controlling your computer and performing operations on your behalf.

This more powerful modification, which still requires significant human input and oversight, came shortly after Mark Zuckerberg reported that Meta researchers had seen signs of self-improvement in their AI models. It also came ahead of OpenAI’s release of GPT-5, the latest version of its chatbot.
