Samsung Confirms Why Your New Galaxy Phone Will Soon Look A Lot Worse

If you recently spent money on a new Samsung Galaxy smartphone, you might want to skip the news early next year.

Anyone who has recently purchased a new Galaxy smartphone will probably not be happy about the latest update from Samsung. The Korean company traditionally unveils its flagship devices at the beginning of each year, and it looks like 2025 will be no exception. Rumors have it that a completely refreshed Galaxy S25 is on the horizon, and now those rumors seem to have been confirmed.

As the Android Central team noted, Samsung apparently unexpectedly revealed the name of its upcoming smartphone during its financial conference and presentation.

“Based on the development of Galaxy AI, MX aims to promote sales growth and increase profitability of flagship models such as the Galaxy S25 series and foldable devices, and expand sales of ecosystem products such as Galaxy Tab, Book and Wearable,” the report, translated from Korean to English, said.

“The Galaxy S25 series, which will launch in the first half of next year, aims to lead the way in everyday innovation, enhancing the Galaxy AI experience and driving sales through enhanced marketing and interactive programs.”

While there's no official date yet, if Samsung follows its tradition of previous years, we could see its latest Galaxy S25 handset unveiled as early as January.

The new line of devices will likely feature the all-new Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, which could make them some of the fastest smartphones on the market.

Announced last month by Qualcomm, the chip looks like something of a stunner, as it promises a 45% increase in performance, making operations much more efficient. This should mean that phones with the Elite will function much faster, while using much less battery power.

In addition to improved performance, these devices are expected to have better rear cameras, fast charging, and more advanced Galaxy AI features.

New designs and additional colours can also be important improvements, along with even stronger glass to help prevent cracks and damage.

More details may be revealed in the coming months, and if you're planning on picking up an S24 during the upcoming Black Friday sale, beware, as something better is coming soon.
