SpaceX has postponed the 10th test launch of its Starship super-heavy rocket, scheduled for Sunday, after technical difficulties were discovered.
Flight 10 was scheduled to lift off at approximately 6:30 p.m. from Starbase in Boca Chica, Texas. It would have been the fourth launch of the giant rocket this year, which replaces the Falcon 9 and Falcon Heavy.
“A decision has been made to postpone today’s test flight of Starship for diagnostics of the launch complex equipment,” the company’s official account on the X social network stated.
The previous launch attempt, Flight 9 in June, suffered a prelaunch explosion. Earlier, on March 6, Flight 8 was lost after stage separation, and Flight 7 broke up early in flight.
Earlier in the day, SpaceX successfully launched a Falcon 9 rocket from Cape Canaveral, Florida, carrying a 2.2-ton cargo load to the ISS. The mission marked the Dragon's 50th visit to the station and its 33rd resupply mission.
The first stage of the launch vehicle landed on the automated platform “A Shortfall of Gravitas”.
