A Florida artist who paints a new American flag every year has unveiled a patriotic work at Art Basel.

An exhibition at a prominent arts and culture center in Parma, Italy, was raided by police on Wednesday after several fake Salvador Dali works were discovered among the collection.
The Palazzo Tarasconi hosted the exhibition “Salvador Dalí, between art and myth” (“Salvador Dalí, tra arte e mito”), which showcased masterpieces by the surrealist artist.
Palazzo Tarasconi was built in the 16th century and is known as a cultural center of fine arts, where various exhibitions are held.
According to the Associated Press (AP), Italian police received information from the Gala-Salvador Dalí Foundation that some Dalí works are fakes.
On Wednesday, the Italian Carabinieri's Art Squad seized 21 tapestries, drawings and engravings on a judge's order.

The investigation is ongoing, according to the AP.
According to the Institute of Fine Arts Expertise, it is predicted that “more than 50% of works of art circulating on the market” may be fake or misattributed.
According to AP, citing ArtNews, Dali is among the most counterfeited artists in the world, along with Pablo Picasso and Amedeo Modigliani.

According to the Dalí Museum (TDM), Dalí was born in Spain in 1904 to a Catholic mother and an atheist father, which shaped his surrealist style.
“From Montreal, London, and Spain to Tokyo, Venice, and the United States, Dalí's indescribable talent and extraordinary creativity have become a universal language of fearlessness, inspiration, and relentless self-expression,” notes the TDM website.
