Video: Traveling sisters try funny trick to keep middle seat empty
Hayley Dreher and her sister Tina brought the laughter to everyone's ears when they pulled off a sneaky trick while flying on a Southwest Airlines flight out of San Francisco.
One passenger shared that she recently bumped into the man who had taken her seat during a flight and admitted that she felt awkward asking him to move.
A post on Reddit's r/delta forum reads, “Man took my window seat instead of his. On purpose.”
“I boarded my 3am Delta flight towards the middle of boarding but was still in my zone. At that point I was hoping there would be no one in my seat! I am sitting on the C+ (F) side, which is the window side – my personal choice,” the post reads.
The user said that when she approached the aisle, she noticed a man in her seat.
“I confirmed my seat and politely said, 'Sir, I think you are sitting in the wrong seat.' He pointed to a window seat (A) on the opposite side of the same aisle and said, 'Sit there,'” she continued.

The user reported that when she looked at the man's rightful place, she saw a man “with the build of a midfielder” sitting in the middle.
“I turned to the 'gentleman' and said, 'No, I'd rather sit here if that's okay with you.' What he said next made me realize his actions were deliberate. He responded, 'Okay, if you want to make three men stand up so you can take your seat,' and snorted,” she wrote in her post.
The user continued: “I said nothing, just stood there until one by one they started to stir, stand up and move around to let me sit in MY seat. Totally rude and an attempt to make me feel guilty.”
“The 'make men move' comment just pissed me off! I immediately understood why he decided to ignore his seat and sit by the window across from me. He had already decided that he would make the poor guy [who came] 'later' just take the remaining seat by the window across from him, no questions asked,” the post reads.
Reddit users discussed the situation in the comments section.

“You make three men move, not me,” one user wrote.
“This situation will continue until people start standing up for their rights. Well done,” another user said.
“His actions made people 'move',” one of them commented.
“I don't tolerate seat swaps. Period,” another user said.
“Flight attendants rarely intervene in situations like this,” one noted.
“Conflicts [with passengers] often lead to delays that [can] cascade, causing missed connections and disgruntled passengers throughout the cabin,” the Texas-based travel author noted. (iStock)
“I'll never forget something similar happening to me and my husband. The man in the [window] seat was URGENT [when] my husband, a man, took the middle seat and even commented that he should [sit] on the aisle,” another person recalled.
Brandon Blewett, a Texas-based author of “How to Avoid Strangers on Airplanes,” told Fox News Digital that he's seeing more and more cases of people running into each other
