A Florida Uber Eats employee is confronting allegations of child endangerment after his son, a young boy with autism who does not speak, was discovered aimlessly walking without clothes on a bustling interstate on-ramp.

Jeremy Rouse, 35, reportedly confessed to officers that he knew his son was not in the vehicle, but he continued his Uber Eats delivery rounds on Thursday to preserve a high rating, as reported by FOX 35 Orlando.

The youngster, whose age remains undisclosed to the public, was saved by a pair of individuals prior to entering the heavy traffic of Interstate 4 in Altamonte Springs.

“I was sprinting at a rapid pace,” rescuer Jamie Cabell told the local broadcast station. “Anything could have occurred in mere moments as vehicles were whizzing past.”

“It felt like we were engaging in a quarter-mile race, and my mission was to intercept this child. I couldn’t bear the thought of him wandering into the traffic. I had to safeguard him,” expressed Alexandre Thomas-Brown, the second witness.

The boy’s mother apparently told authorities that she had dozed off in the passenger seat while Rouse was completing his delivery tasks, according to local WESH.

After she awoke, she perceived an unusual quiet in the car, turned to check on the boy, and realized he was gone from his seat.

Law enforcement shared with FOX 35 that Rouse admitted he did not halt his car because he feared potential arrest if he went back to the location.
