The symbolism of color is closely linked to the teaching of the five elements. It should be noted here that the perception of color in the East and West has several significant differences. For example, we associate black with hopelessness and evil (“dark melancholy,” “dark deeds”), while white, on the contrary, is perceived as the embodiment of joy and purity (“white day,” “white clothes”). In Chinese culture, white is a symbol of death.
In this regard, we advise you to pay closer attention to your own color perception and not force yourself, against your will, to repaint your walls or urgently replace your carpeting. The psychology of color perception is extremely complex, and even wise magicians are not always able to understand our tastes.
Let's list some of the main points related to Feng Shui color theory.
Red. One of the ancient symbols of life and resurrection, it is also associated with fire and embodies the active yang principle. It is especially beneficial in areas lacking light and warmth, as well as in spaces that require mental and physical stimulation. An excess of red is undesirable, as it disrupts the balance between yin and yang, making the interior too bright and garish. It is also not recommended to use red in rooms intended for relaxation.
Yellow. Symbolizes abundance and health. Its shades also create a sense of comfort and tranquility. While we're accustomed to yellowish evening light, intense yellowness can also evoke negative associations.
Green. In almost all cultures, it is a symbol of life and rebirth. European psychologists agree with feng shui masters: this color and its shades promote restoration of strength, calm, spiritual harmony, have a beneficial effect on vision, and generally create optimal living conditions.
Blue. The color of the deep sea and the heights of the sky. Symbolizing mystery and a meditative state, it lends a solemn feel to the interior, creating a feeling of coolness and purity. However, bluish lighting is not considered beneficial for everyday life, especially in the kitchen.
Black. In the Eastern concept of color, closely associated with the changing seasons, it symbolizes winter. It's impossible to imagine a house with blank black walls or a black ceiling—it's the stuff of horror stories. In the European tradition, black is most often used only in decorative design or as a furniture color.
White. The color of the absolute, the highest manifestation of a particular quality. Associated with light, including eternal light. Its use in interior design implies a certain responsibility. Symbolizing purity, sincerity, and clarity, whiteness must retain its original flawlessness.
Color is a powerful feng shui energizer. By using your own colors in your wardrobe and interior, you will nourish your birth year element.

Note: If you were born before February 4th of the year you're interested in, you should look at your Gua number for the previous year. This confusion stems from the beginning of the year according to the Chinese horoscope.
Keep in mind that the Gua number based on the year of birth only has 8-10% influence on personality. The main element of personality is calculated based on the date, time, and place of birth by creating a natal chart.
