Burglars in Kingston, Washington, didn't break down the front door.

Instead, they tunneled through the wall of a Starbucks restroom after breaking in a nearby door. Evidence of the break-in was captured on a deputy's body camera, the Kitsap County Sheriff's Office said.

The robbery occurred around 3:30 a.m. on Aug. 8 when a Starbucks employee arrived for an early shift at the store located on Northeast Highway 104 and found the premises had been ransacked.

Police soon found a hole in the wall leading to an empty apartment nearby.

“They discovered a hole cut into the wall of a neighboring building,” the sheriff's office said in a video posted on Facebook, which also described how “the thieves entered the coffee shop through a vacant business next door.”

Once inside, the burglars rummaged through cash registers, cut computer cables, broke cabinets and damaged a safe in an apparent attempt to open it. It is unclear whether they succeeded in stealing anything, and the total damage and losses are still being tallied.

As of August 13, no suspects have been identified.

While burglaries are not uncommon in the area, tunneling operations are rare, suggesting that the burglars may have scouted the area in advance and carefully planned their crime.

The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are hoping the unusual manner of the break-in and the release of body camera footage may prompt someone to remember details and come forward.

The Kitsap County Sheriff's Office did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital's request for comment on the case.
