RFK Video: Steak 'n Shake Swapping Vegetable Oil For Healthier Alternative
Steak 'n Shake COO Daniel Edwards is a guest on “Fox & Friends” to discuss the company's transition from frying with vegetable oil to frying with beef tallow.
A man who decided to cook a raw steak on the rotating glass plate of an office microwave has now been banned from using the shared appliance, while the colleague who reported it to his boss has been charged with snitching.
Reddit user “Equal_Warning_5319” shared his colleague's cooking habits in a post that has sparked discussion and debate about the rules of cooking in public places.
The 27-year-old wrote that his 32-year-old colleague “Greg” “considers the office microwave his personal test kitchen.”
“It started with small things – he would microwave weird foods like boiled eggs (which exploded) or sardines (which smelled horrible),” a Reddit user wrote.
“But then [things] became much more serious.”

A Reddit user said he walked into the break room and “saw Greg microwaving an entire raw steak on a rotating glass plate” with no lid.
“He claimed it was his 'signature dish,'” a Reddit user wrote. “Now the microwave constantly smells like burnt meat and despair.”
Then “the soup incident happened,” the Reddit user continued.

He said there was a “mini explosion” that caused the microwave to malfunction and forced the entire office to evacuate when the fire alarm went off.

“Management stepped in and Greg is now officially banned from the microwave,” a Reddit user wrote.
Now the man is furious – “and claims that I 'snitched', when in fact I just explained to our boss why there was a burnt thermos husk inside the microwave.”
The Reddit user said some of his colleagues thought he “should have just left it in the past, but I believe I prevented a much bigger disaster in the future.”
Fox News Digital has reached out to the Reddit author for more information.
Other users on the platform appeared to be shocked by their colleague's culinary choice.
“Is anyone else confused by the fact that someone's 'signature dish' is MICROWAVED STEAK????” one Reddit user wrote.
“Buying a steak and cooking it in a microwave should be banned.”
“Buying a steak and microwaving it should be illegal,” another Reddit user noted. “The poor cow deserved better.”
Another Reddit user supported the author's decision to report problems with microwaves.
“You didn't knock. You just didn't bother to cover it. That's the difference.”
Diane Gottsman, founder and owner of the Texas Protocol School in San Antonio, told Fox News Digital that any food that is contaminated or smells bad “shouldn't be prepared in an office kitchen at all.”
