The Los Angeles Police Department received unexpected help in recovering purloined items recently from a European firm that produces luxury adult novelties. The firm discovered its pilfered inventory being marketed on the internet and proceeded to purchase some of it.

These unsung heroes then furnished the delivery address to the authorities, who traced it to a pre-owned automobile dealership. The LAPD’s Cargo Theft Task Force, in conjunction with allied agencies, conducted a raid on the establishment and uncovered more than just a substantial quantity of intimate items.

Plainclothes officers discovered a wide assortment of items, according to ABC7, which was granted exclusive access to the hundreds of thousands of dollars’ worth of unlawfully obtained merchandise. In addition to the premium adult products, they found components for acoustic drums, power tools, cases of denim apparel, and more.

“We’ve identified DeWalt, Nike, and our own pilfered merchandise, which was the initial catalyst for our investigation,” an undercover LAPD detective informed the local news outlet.

They also uncovered Yeti tumblers and Acer laptops, all brought to light thanks to a company specializing in adult products, which brings to mind the adage, “Be careful what you play with, lest you find yourself in a compromising situation.” Or perhaps that’s not a commonly known saying.

“Regrettably, we are situated in the epicenter of cargo theft, encompassing both rail and commercial freight, here in Los Angeles,” the undercover detective further stated.

Following the operation at the pre-owned vehicle lot, law enforcement apprehended an individual. Peter Ahoubim of Beverly Hills was taken into custody on suspicion of possessing stolen property.

Authorities indicated that they have processed approximately a quarter of the items confiscated from the car lot and associated storage units, with the value of recovered stolen goods already reaching $500,000.

The LAPD urges consumers to exercise greater vigilance when making online purchases. The absence of return policies and exceptionally low prices on items, such as high-end adult novelties for instance, could be indicators that you are acquiring stolen merchandise and inadvertently supporting criminal enterprises.

An exemplary effort by the courageous individuals at the European adult novelty company.

They managed to dismantle what appears to be a significant illicit operation that possessed a wide array of goods, but lacked the foresight to dispatch items from a location distinct from the used car lot, which was purportedly crammed with stolen inventory.
