China's lunar exploration program is entering a new phase.
The country plans to carry out the first landing of its cosmonauts on the lunar surface by 2030, reports a correspondent for the online publication Belnovosti.
This was announced by the China Manned Space Administration, Xinhua reports.

Preparations for the historic mission have entered an active phase.
In the near future, Chinese engineers will conduct a series of critical tests on the main components.
The lunar mission will be based on the Mengzhou manned spacecraft, the Lanyue lunar lander, and the Long March 10 launch vehicle.
An important step in preparation has already been taken: prototypes of the entire complex of technical equipment for the landing – from the rocket and spacesuits to the lunar rover – are fully ready.
China may officially become the second country whose astronauts will set foot on the surface of the Earth's satellite.
