Supination, also known as underpronation, is a common running pattern. In fact, each of us supinates and pronates during each step. Supination is when the foot rolls outward, while pronation is when the foot rolls inward. These natural stages of the gait cycle can become a problem, or at least require attention, when they become more pronounced.
