A royal historian claims that Andrew arranged for 40 sex workers to be brought to his luxury hotel over a four-day period.
Andrew Lownie stated that the previous Duke of York had the escorts escorted to his suite during a visit to Thailand for the monarch’s birthday festivities, which was paid for by taxpayers.
Mr Lownie further mentioned that these encounters were facilitated by ‘diplomats and associates’.
The one-time prince, who has since been deprived of his royal designations, served as the UK’s special representative for global commerce and investment between 2001 and 2011.
However, as per Mr Lownie, who documented Andrew’s life as a royal in his publication, the King, who was then Prince Charles, cautioned then-Prime Minister Tony Blair against appointing his sibling, fearing he would only ‘pursue women and play golf’.
The author of Entitled: The Rise and Fall of the House of York conveyed to the Daily Mail that Andrew would insist on staying at opulent hotels, rather than at embassies, during his official trips. He would also allocate two weeks of ‘personal time’ in addition to his duties as an envoy.
Former trade representative, Paul Scully, told Times Radio that Andrew reserved ‘virtually’ an entire level of Bangkok’s Mandarin Oriental Hotel when he traveled to the city for the king’s memorial service.
The former Conservative MP noted that Andrew’s extravagance amounted to approximately £50,000.

This follows Buckingham Palace’s commencement of procedures yesterday to rescind Andrew’s official titles and expel him from Royal Lodge.
Mr Lownie also mentioned that, besides utilizing the trade excursions for personal enjoyment, Andrew took advantage of these opportunities to progress his professional relationships.

On one instance, Andrew scheduled a gathering in China for his business associate David Rowlands, along with supporting him in acquiring a banking permit in the Middle East.
Nevertheless, a ‘pact of silence’ surrounds Andrew’s conduct as Trade Envoy, as all files pertaining to his decade-long tenure remain undisclosed, according to Mr. Lownie.
In a discussion with Sarah Vine prior to the Palace’s decision to strip Andrew of his titles, Mr. Lownie expressed that Andrew was casting ‘shame’ on the entire institution and that he ought to be ‘sacrificed’.
He stated: ‘Had there been appropriate examination of Andrew during his service as Trade Envoy, perhaps some of these issues might not have surfaced.’
