Frozen lemons: why they are healthier than fresh ones and how to freeze them correctly

There is an opinion that few people know how to actually enhance the benefits of citrus pulp, peel, and juice. To do this, it is recommended to put a whole lemon in the freezer. Some experienced housewives have long adopted this life hack.

It is enough to leave a lemon in the freezer for just one night. During this time, it will become more convenient to use: for example, frozen fruit is easier to grate. However, it can be cut in the usual way and added anywhere – in drinks, lemonade, main courses and salads.

It turns out that frozen lemon loses its unpleasant bitterness. This allows you to eat it with the peel. There is also an opinion that when freezing lemon juice is structured, and the properties of vitamin C are enhanced.

Citrus will protect against premature aging, lower blood cholesterol levels, help absorb more iron from other foods, “defeat” bacteria and fungal infections, and accelerate the healing of skin wounds. In addition, frozen lemon is more effective in losing weight: the fruit will speed up metabolism.

You can use frozen lemon for colds and gastrointestinal problems, but not during their exacerbation.

Before freezing, it is recommended to wash lemons with hot water and dry them, otherwise an excess ice crust will appear. After that, the fruit is wrapped in cling film and sent to the freezer.
