LIFE after death is real, at least according to a woman who claims to have felt God’s presence in the afterlife.
Although scientists are yet to find evidence of the afterlife, there are many people who are certain life after death is real. One such woman is Melinda, who claims to have entered the afterlife 30 years ago after postpartum haemorrhage or bleeding. According to Melinda, shortly after being taken into hospital to stop the bleeding, she stopped breathing and was drawn into a long dark tunnel.

Melinda shared her sensational account with the Near-Death Experience Research Foundation (NDERF), describing in great detail what she saw.
She said: “At my darkest and lowest and saddest moment, I realized that I wasn’t alone.
“I realized that I had a guardian angel just to the right of me. I knew his name was Michael.”
Melinda then recalled the sensation of leaving her body and seeing the doctors and nurses trying to save her life.

Near-death experience: Woman describes ‘peaceful’ afterlife
Then, a “veil lifted” and Melinda was transported into a tunnel with a bright light at the end of it.
Melinda then saw her great uncle Harry Ed and Aunt Vickie.
She said: “I was in total bliss and happiness. I was home. I didn’t want to go back.
“I had a life review where I saw every single event from my life. I saw every act of goodness and kindness.
“I saw every act of spite or ill-will. I also got to see it from the other person’s point of view.”
Melinda believes the light at the end of the tunnel was full of love “was God”.
She did not want to go back home because of the love she felt in the afterlife.
She said: “I knew I had to go back, but I really wanted to stay. I knew that it would hurt to go back to my body.
“I truly knew that this was home. The bright light filled everything and was totally God’s love – unconditional and filled with such joy and peace.”

Out of body experience: Woman leaves body in near death experience
Eventually, Melinda woke up in an intensive care unit.
Since the incident, she has said she is no longer afraid of death.
And yet, despite the incredible detail in her account, most medical experts believe there are perfectly natural explanations for the near-death experience.
Many NDEs share similar characteristics, such as out-of-body experiences or vivid memories of the afterlife.
But these can most likely be explained through chemical processes in the brain.
Some experts speculate NDEs are triggered by a lack of oxygen in the brain during a moment of trauma.
Others have suggested the brain releases the psychoactive chemical dimethyltryptamine (DMT) upon death.
Whatever the case may be, the NHS in the UK does not recognised NDEs are genuine instances of people dying.
The NHS said in 2014: “The existence of an ‘afterlife’ remains a matter of belief, not scientific proof.”
