After residing in a dwelling for several years, it’s understandable to presume you’re acquainted with virtually everything there is to learn concerning the building.
But one guy experienced a major surprise after exposing a “maze of passages and chambers” beneath his residence, leading him to question all he believed about his property.

In a Reddit post, he presented photos of the subterranean passage system and eerie spaces they branched out to – stating: “There are numerous stained covers, possibly with blood. The passages just continue, maybe five chambers? A few chambers have electricity, others with running water.”
After dedicating a while exploring down there, he expressed how breathing became challenging because of the mildew and standing water that has been accumulating over the years.
He continued: “There’s a vast amount of mildew. I recorded a DJ set down there for 60 minutes and I feel like my lungs have never been the same. If I’m the initial sufferer of the subsequent epidemic let it be acknowledged I’m sorry.”

Sharing a heads-up, one user commented: “Don’t view Barbarian.” Another user replied: “It was great knowing you.”

A third user expressed: “This is directly from Barbarian.” One further user added: “Congrats. You now possess your personal torture chamber.”
In the 2022 film Barbarian, a young lady realizes she is sharing the rental house she reserved with an unfamiliar person – and in a condition of worry, she winds up trapped inside cellar before encountering hidden hallways, leading to a chilling space.
With Halloween approaching, one user lightheartedly proposed: “Haunted house, my friend. Construct a Haunted House down there. Demand $20 a person. Open for a couple of months then don’t labour the remainder of the year. That’s the ambition.”
While another stated: “Mate, you need to thoroughly tidy that spot up and convert it into a pleasant bar or relaxing location. I could definitely picture a bar with some sofas in this space.
“Although, that mildew may not be the greatest air freshener for visitors, but that’s merely my viewpoint.”
However, as the spaces are “laden with grime and dampness”, he doubts he’ll undertake anything with the additional area as it would require too much capital to transform it into anything worthwhile.
One additional user commented: “Interesting. Appears you discovered the previous coal area. Some attention has been allocated to this area as noted on the final image.
“There is illumination, the roof has been strengthened. I can furthermore deduce that your dwelling formerly had hydronic heating with floor positioned fins but has subsequently been altered to another type of heat (forced air heat pump or something similar?).
“The final image displays an insulation covering on the piping which does not seem fiberglass. It’s challenging to determine what material it is.
“It does not appear like asbestos to me since it more of a fabric sort covering but precaution should still be practiced around it.”
