Mortician shares one thing he won’t do when he dies – ‘it’s selfish’

Autopsy assistant Gerald Wayne is often asked about the intricacies of death by his social media fans, but he’s now opened up about his own death.

A mortician has sparked discussion after sharing one thing he woundn’t do after he died.

Known for answering questions about the human body post-mortem, Gerald Wayne was asked whether he would prefer to be buried or cremated in a video shared with his 2.3 TikTok followers.

In his reply, the autopsy assistant said he would choose to be cremated. “I don’t have time now in my busy life to visit my grandparents or aunts or uncles who have passed,” he said. Thinking of me in the future, I don’t want to be selfish and ask my kids to come visit me in their busy lives.”

He believes this will allow his family to remember him without tying them to a graveyard, explaining: “I don’t want them to take time out of their busy lives to visit me at a gravesite. I’m not really there, it’s just a shell. I’m gone so just cremate me and set me on the shelf, talk to me, wave to me when you walk by.”

His candid answer has not only changed some people’s perspectives but also inspired many to openly discuss their own end-of-life preferences with loved ones.
