NASA photos of the Moon appear to show an “alien temple” or “dark tower”, a self-titled UFO expert has claimed.
The NASA photos showcase a pockmarked region of the Moon where conspiracy theorist Scott C Waring believes he has found an alien-built structure. Although at first glance nothing about the photo seems out of the ordinary, Mr Waring said a nearly one mile-tall tower is hiding in plain sight. The popular conspiracy theorist shared his bizarre discovery on his blog ET Data Base.
Mr Waring said: “Guys I was going through some NASA index photo of the Moon when I came across this dark tower.
“At first it was the top of the tower that grabbed my attention, but when I noticed the square bottom at its bottom, I became excited.
“Then I noticed a ring, but when I enlarged the ring I realised it was not a full circle but 80 percent of a circle.”
In his estimate, Mr Waring said the dark tower measures about 0.9 miles (1.5km) in height and about 0.3 miles (0.5km) across.

The UFO hunter also drew the symbol he saw in the photos, which he thinks is of importance to the aliens supposedly living on the Moon.
He said: “I tried to make the symbol of the tower in black and white seen in the above photo. I think its very close.
“It must have some very important meaning to this species of aliens because that symbol on the tower is huge.
“It looks to be an ancient temple of some serious significance to it… maybe religious, maybe unifying, or even political.”
Mr Waring has named the tower after himself, Waring Tower.
He said: That would make my tower 1.3km taller than the 202 meter Trump Tower.”
This is not the first time Mr Waring has found unusual anomalies in NASA photos, only to call them extraterrestrial object.
He has previously shared photos of what he claimed is a pyramid on Mars.

However, most experts will agree all of these so-called discoveries are simply a case of pareidolia.
Pareidolia is a bizarre effect that causes people to see shapes and patterns where they do no exist.
Scientists believe this is an evolutionary trait that has helped humans recognise friend from foe.
A simple example of pareidolia is seeing animal shapes in clouds.
Astronomer Larry Sessions told EarthSky.org: “Seeing recognizable objects or patterns in otherwise random or unrelated objects or patterns is called pareidolia.
“It’s a form of apophenia, which is a more general term for the human tendency to seek patterns in random information.
“Everyone experiences it from time to time.
“Seeing the famous man in the Moon is a classic example from astronomy.”
