Near Death Experience: Man ‘reviewed life’ telepathically with God in heaven – claim

A MAN who temporarily died believes he has seen the afterlife – where he claims he spoke to a telepathic being who he says is God.

Following a stroke, a man named Nigel had a near death experience (NDE), where he believes he met God. Nigel believes the pair reviewed his life in the telepathic conversation, and God told him what to do to become a better person. Nigel also said that God was in an assembly of souls, who told him he would be returning back to the afterlife at some point – but they would not tell him when.

Writing on the Near Death Experience Research Foundation (NDERF), Nigel said: “I knew I was dying and it did not seem to be of any importance to me.

“As I was preparing to leave my body, my life was ‘rolled out’ for me to view.

“I was disappointed at how little I had accomplished.

“Then I became aware of a presence who said telepathically, ‘You have done enough; you can come over.’

“I became aware of a feeling of comfort, calm and a beautiful peace within a soft yellow/gold backdrop.

“I had no feeling for any of my children, family or friends because I realised how short in cosmic terms that life is and that we would all be together in a moment.

“As we discussed my life, I felt guilt that I had not provided security for my wife and could not leave her without addressing her future security.

“I told ‘God’ that I had to return even if I had now fulfilled whatever it was I was meant to have done.

“I had the insight that we are all here to allow souls to experience ‘life,’ however painful or rewarding, bland or stunning the soul’s existence.

“The existence was so perfect as to be meaningless without feeling Life through others. I now knew what peace really is.

“I was told that I could go back and fulfil my job, cause or mission.

“However, I would be returning back to the souls at some point in the future and without warning.”

Some researchers, however, have said these visions are a normal phenomenon and not necessarily a sign of an afterlife.

Dr Sam Parnia, director of critical care and resuscitation research at NYU Langone School of Medicine in New York City, told an Oz Talk: “People describe a sensation of a bright, warm, welcoming light that draws people towards it.

“They describe a sensation of experiencing their deceased relatives, almost as if they have come to welcome them.

“They often say that they didn’t want to come back in many cases, it is so comfortable and it is like a magnet that draws them that they don’t want to come back.

“A lot of people describe a sensation of separating from themselves and watching doctors and nurses working on them.”

Dr Parnia said there are scientific explanations for the reaction, and says seeing people is not evidence of the afterlife, but more likely the brain just scanning itself as a survival technique.
