EXCLUSIVE: Brainteasers such as this one created by the Daily Express are a great way to stimulate the mind.
One of the best things about brainteasers is their variety and the many different forms they can take as well as the amount of creativity that can be had with them.
The three main types of brainteasers are observational, analytical, and mathematical. Analytical brainteasers often pose a written riddle in front of the user that has to unpick and solve.
Mathematical brainteasers on the other hand ask a maths question that can vary from the very easy to the very hard and complex. Observational brainteasers such as the one above normally begin with an innocuous image or collection of images.
However, within that innocuous image, the person has to spot the anomaly. In this case, the task is to try and spot the odd plane out from a sea of otherwise identical planes.

Did you spot the odd plane out? No worries if not, the answer is circled above in red. The plane in question can be seen five rows in from the left of the image in the fifth column.
The difference between this plane and the others is that the wings on this aircraft are a slightly darker shade of blue compared to the others.
The key to solving this brainteaser is to carefully scan the image from left to right and top to bottom, assessing each aircraft before deciding which is the odd one out.
Brainteasers such as this one are great for stimulating the brain and giving the mind a great workout. They can be done in any number of scenarios whether on a commute or in a waiting room.

Brainteasers could also help improve someone’s health. They act like exercise for the mind in the same way running or cycling exercises the arms and legs.
Furthermore, the healthier the mind is the less likely it could be to develop a neurological condition such as dementia.
This doesn’t mean brainteasers will stop someone from developing dementia, other factors can have a much greater impact, but they could help keep the mind sharper for longer.
Dementia is one of the most devastating conditions for someone to face. Despite the development of new treatments, there is as yet no known cure.
