After a series of canceled launches, SpaceX launched an Indonesian communications satellite into orbit from its Florida launch site on Thursday evening.

The Nusantara Lima spacecraft lifted off aboard a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket at 9:56 p.m. ET.

The launch was postponed due to adverse weather conditions that persisted for three days, with persistent precipitation and high clouds delaying the flight.

The Nusantara Lima launch vehicle, also known as N5, was inserted into geostationary transfer orbit approximately 27 minutes after liftoff. The launch vehicle's first stage landed aboard the unmanned spacecraft, A Shortfall of Gravitas, in the Atlantic Ocean.

This was the 23rd flight of the first stage of the launch vehicle, which provides thrust to launch the module into orbit.
