A raccoon with a meth pipe in its mouth was found in the front seat of a car during an Ohio police raid on a woman's drugs.
Springfield police stopped Victoria Vidal, 55, on Monday on an active warrant and with a suspended license. The woman was taken into custody, the department said on Facebook.
However, when the officer returned to the car, he made an unusual discovery: in the front seat was a raccoon named Chewie with a glass meth pipe in his mouth.

“Chewie somehow obtained a glass pipe containing methamphetamine, which prompted officers to conduct a more thorough search of the vehicle,” police said.
During a search prompted by the discovery of the raccoon, officers found a “significant quantity” of methamphetamine, as well as crack cocaine and three used glass meth pipes.
According to police, the raccoon was unharmed in the incident.
“Fortunately, Chewie the raccoon was not harmed and the relevant authorities were notified that she had all the necessary documents and proof of ownership,” the police added.

In Ohio, residents can legally keep raccoons if they have the proper paperwork and permits.
It is still unclear where Chewie was taken and whether the animal will be returned to Vidal.
“While our officers are accustomed to the unexpected, finding a raccoon with a meth pipe is a first!” police said. “As always, we remain committed to keeping our community safe, no matter what surprises await.”
