A rural Missouri firefighting trainee had an unforgettable first call when she responded to a fire on Monday.

According to the Doolittle Fire District, located in the tiny town of the same name, the only vegan on their team is Jenna Ulrich, a rookie firefighter who is carrying on a family tradition (her father is also a firefighter).

Ulrich was on duty Monday morning when a call came in about a semi-truck on fire on eastbound I-174.

What made the situation special was that the vehicle was carrying 40,000 pounds of premium ribeye steaks.

Footage published online by the agency showed Ulrich on the front lines of the fire, actively using a fire hose.

Her father Glenn also took part in the operation.

“There's no better way to start a fire than by putting out 40,000 pounds of flaming steak!” county officials wrote ironically on social media.

Despite the prompt actions of the firefighters, the department found that the goods were completely damaged.

This is not the first unusual operation by the small fire brigade to save burning food trucks.

The June incident with the truck “crammed” with onions also resulted in 100% loss of cargo.
