One of the largest asteroids of 2025 will fly past Earth on September 18.
It's called 2025 FA22, as reported by a Belnovosti correspondent, and it is one of the largest in 2025.
As the Solar Astronomy Laboratory of the Space Research Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the Institute of Solar-Terrestrial Physics of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences told TASS, the asteroid will pass at a distance equal to the diameter of the lunar orbit.

“One of the largest asteroids of the year, 2025 FA22, will pass tomorrow, September 18, at a distance slightly greater than the diameter of the lunar orbit from Earth,” the scientists said in a statement.
The closest approach to Earth will occur at 10 a.m. Moscow time.
The asteroid is approximately 166 meters in size and reaches 290 meters in length.
This asteroid is a thousand times heavier than the Chelyabinsk meteorite – the weight, of course, is also approximate.
Researchers believe it is one of the largest rocks this year, if not the largest, to pass within a million kilometers of Earth.
Incidentally, there is no danger to earthlings – scientists have assessed the chances of the planet colliding with an asteroid as zero.
