A new spacecraft has been created in Belarus to monitor the Earth's ionosphere to predict magnetic storms.
As reported by the National Academy of Sciences (NAS), scientists have been working on the project for four years, reports a correspondent for the online publication Belnovosti.
The details were revealed on Monday, October 20, by the Belarus 1 TV channel.

Currently, the 10 kg satellite is already placed in the launch container and is awaiting launch into orbit.
The launch is scheduled for the end of December this year.
The key practical goal of the mission is to improve the reliability of power system facilities.
As is known, magnetic storms can cause disruptions in the operation of ground-based electrical equipment.
Timely forecasting of such events will help minimize possible risks and prevent accidents.
In addition, as doctors note, data obtained from the satellite may be useful for weather-sensitive people.
According to neurologist Margarita Puchko, disturbances in the Earth's magnetic field can increase feelings of anxiety and affect blood pressure.
