A two-year-old girl was the victim of an alleged sexual assault at a play centre after going missing from her mum.
The incident happened at Lollipop’s Playland and Café in western Sydney, Australia, where the toddler was found injured, police say.
Officers were told the girl's mum was looking for her for some time before she was found by a member of the public in a store room in the play centre at around 12.20pm on Sunday.
The child was taken to The Children’s Hospital Westmead and examined for her injuries.
Detective Superintendent John Kerlatec told 9 News the girl’s injuries were “sufficient enough for us to be concerned”.

The State Crime Command’s Child Abuse and Sex Crimes squad has since opened an investigation into the incident, and are appealing for witnesses who saw anyone at the play centre acting suspiciously.
Lollipop’s Playland and Cafe said in a Facebook post it would remain closed for the rest of the day and would reopen tomorrow.
