ALIEN hunters were bewildered to discover a human-like “foot” in official NASA photos snapped on the surface of Mars.
The alien anomaly was photographed by NASA’s Mars Curiosity rover on the 855th day of its mission. Photos of a boulder-strewn field at first glance show nothing but rocks and dust. But UFO hunters are convinced a treasure trove of supposed alien artefacts is hidden away in plain sight.

Self-appointed UFO expert and conspiracy theorist Scott C Waring claims to have found an alien foot among the rubble.
He bizarrely suggested the foot could be the real deal as it is too detailed to be part of a statue.
Mr Waring said: “I found a human-size foot on Mars in a Gigapan photo today.
“It’s taken from Mars Sol 855 and it has incredible detail to it.

“The foot has muscles and veins showing through skin surface.
“I believe it has to be a real foot because most of the statues on Mars are less quality and detail.”
The latest find is not the first time Mr Waring has made strange claims about aliens on Mars.
He has previously touted the discovery of an alien handgun on Mars, urging billionaire Elon Musk to retrieve it.
And a year earlier, he shared photographs of what he claimed is a crashed alien spaceship on the Moon.
Mr Waring now said: “Perhaps this is a foot of an alien that was part of an invasion force.
“The foot does not have five toes but instead has only two large areas in the front… probably toes, but would seem less weak than five toes would. Interesting really.
“There is no shoe or sock covering it… just the foot and upper ankle area.
“If this was found in Greece pulled from the ground… there would be no doubt that it was an ancient foot of a person long ago… so how could we not do the same for Mars?”

There is, however, absolutely no evidence to back the outlandish claims about life on Mars.
At the very least, scientists speculate simple microbial life may have developed billions of years ago when Mars still had running water.
NASA scientist Brad Bailey said: “Between research by SETI, analysis of Martian meteorites, recent findings of methane within the Mars atmosphere and other similar studies, there is no current evidence for life elsewhere, intelligent or otherwise.”
What is most likely, is the alien “foot” is just an oddly shaped rock and Mr Waring was tricked by an effect known as pareidolia.
Pareidolia is a form of apophenia, which describes the brain’s tendency to see shapes and patterns where they do not exist.
Astronomer Larry Sessions said: “Seeing recognizable objects or patterns in otherwise random or unrelated objects or patterns is called pareidolia.
“It’s a form of apophenia, which is a more general term for the human tendency to seek patterns in random information.
“Everyone experiences it from time to time.
“Seeing the famous man in the moon is a classic example from astronomy.”
