Life after death: Woman opens up about her visit to the afterlife ‘I was looking at Jesus’

LIFE after death is real, at least according to a woman who claims to have been healed by Jesus Christ in the afterlife.

The woman, who only shared her name as Darlene, said she has memories of visiting heaven during a near-death experience (NDE) 48 years ago. According to Darlene, she briefly died in hospital after suffering a ruptured appendix and ovary cysts. Darlene shared her incredible account of life after death with the Near-Death Experience Research Foundation (NDERF).

She said: “I was sick for a long time. Despite seeing numerous doctors, nobody had a diagnosis.

“On Friday, I was taken to a different town with different doctors.

“Saturday morning, the doctor came in to check on me and found that I needed exploratory surgery immediately.”

After being treated by doctors, Darlene said she could feel her body floating upwards.

She felt no pain and was surrounded by lights “like watching the aurora borealis”.

After floating upwards, Darlene said the pain returned and she felt week again.

Then, she saw the form of a man take shape before her.

Darlene said: “He was bending down slightly and I could see where the bright light was coming from.

“His face was so bright, it almost took my breath away. I knew then that I was looking at Jesus.

“I could see the hem of His garment and His sandals.”

Darlene then reached out to touch him and felt a warmth flow through her body.

She continued: “The next thing I knew was that I was in my bed and I saw a soft glow at the end of my bed.

“I heard a soft voice singing the song I Saw a Man. It sounds like the version by Connie Smith.”

After the bizarre incident, Darlene said her vitals returned to normal.

However, most medical experts believe there are natural explanations for what Darlene saw.

According to Dr Sam Parnia, director of critical care and resuscitation research at NYU Langone School of Medicine in New York City, many NDE patients experience sights and sounds that seem supernatural.

He said during an OZ Talk: “A lot of people describe a sensation of separating from themselves and watching doctors and nurses working on them.

“They can hear things and record all conversations that are going on around them.

“Some of them describe a sensation where they review everything that they have done.”

Some experts speculate the visions could be explained by the brain scanning itself as a survival technique.

According to the NHS, NDEs are not considered genuine instances of a person dying.

The NHS said: “A more accepted definition of death is when brain stem death occurs, which is when all neural activity in the deepest brain ceases.

“While it is possible to keep the heart functioning using life support systems, a person with brain stem death has permanently lost the potential for consciousness.

“The existence of an ‘afterlife’ remains a matter of belief, not scientific proof.”
