WhatsApp reminds users of 12 new features that are available right now.
If you love chatting on WhatsApp, you might want to take a look at the new features that Meta has recently announced. WhatsApp says that several additional updates are now available, and is now reminding users of the new features so they don’t “miss out.”
As WhatsApp explains, “With new features and updates being added all the time, it’s easy to miss useful and interesting ways to use WhatsApp.”
This popular messenger is constantly evolving, so it’s easy to lose track of the latest innovations and additions.
So, if you like sending messages, recording voice notes, or making calls, here's everything you need to know about the updates.
• YOUR CHATS
Online indicator in group chats: To help you know if there are people willing to chat, you can now see how many members are Online in real time, right below the group name.
Highlight notifications in groups: Looking for an easy way to prioritize group chat notifications? Use the new Notify for setting and choose Highlighted to only receive notifications for @mentions, replies, and messages from saved contacts, or All to receive all notifications.
Events Updates: You can now create events in 1:1 conversations in addition to groups. WhatsApp says it has also added the ability to RSVP as maybe, invite a plus one, add an end date and time for longer events, and pin an event to a chat.
Clickable reactions: Sometimes you just want to express your agreement with something someone else said. Now you can quickly see everyone else's reactions and choose the one you want to send.
Scan documents on iPhone: Scan and send documents directly from WhatsApp on your iPhone. Simply select “Scan Document” from the attachment bar and follow the instructions to scan, crop, and save the document.
Default App for iPhone: With the latest iOS update, you can now also set WhatsApp as the default messaging and calling app on your iPhone. To change the settings, simply go to Settings > Default Apps and select WhatsApp.
• CHALLENGE CHANGES
Pinch-to-zoom video calls: iPhone users can now pinch-to-zoom during a video call to get a better view of their video or the video of the person they're talking to.
Add to Call from Chat: Add someone to an ongoing one-on-one call directly from a chat by tapping the call icon at the top and selecting “Add to Call”.
Enjoy smoother video calls: WhatsApp says it has updated its technology to make video calls more reliable and high-quality. Its optimized routing system finds the best connection path, reducing call drops and video freezes. And improved bandwidth detection quickly upsamples your video to HD for a smoother experience.
• OTHER UPDATES
Video Notes for Channels: Similar to chats, channel admins can now instantly record and share short videos (60 seconds or less) with subscribers.
Channel Voice Message Transcripts: You can now receive a written summary of channel voice message updates when you're on the go and can't listen to them.
QR Codes: As a channel admin, you can now share a unique QR code that links directly to your channel, making it easy to share with others and grow their audience.
