SpaceX conducted simultaneous launches of Starlink satellites from both US coasts to strengthen broadband internet infrastructure.

The West Coast launch took place at 1:05 a.m. ET Thursday from Pad 4 East at Vandenberg Air Force Base. The rocket carried 24 new satellites into orbit for the Internet constellation.

After the separation of the upper stage from the Earth, the process of placing the satellites into their designated positions took approximately an hour.

The flight marked the 98th Falcon 9 launch this year, with 8,100 of the nearly 9,400 vehicles placed in orbit since 2018 still operational.

Meanwhile, on the East Coast, a rocket carrying 28 V2 compact satellites lifted off from Cape Canaveral at 8:29 a.m. ET, marking the 69th launch from the Florida site in 2025.

Weather conditions were assessed as suitable for launch with a probability of 90%.
