Traveller Hayley Learmonth travelled around Australia for free, pet sitting and driving service vans to different destinations, saving her $15,000.

One of the passengers on the flight shared on social media an incident involving her fellow passenger, whose hair was down during the flight – literally.

In a post on the Reddit forum r/unitedairlines, a user asked: “What is the standard procedure in this case?”

The post included a photo of the passenger in front with her long hair hanging over the headrest and blocking another passenger's computer screen. “Excuse me, ma'am,” the caption read.

Reddit users began actively discussing their opinions on the matter in the comments.

“The call button. I understand that this may create difficulties for the flight attendants, but I am not going to discuss with other passengers what is decent behavior,” suggested one commenter.

One user noted: “Scissors.”

“Pull your hair,” joked another participant.

One commenter said: “You can say, 'Excuse me miss, your hair is covering my screen, could you please move it?' If she refuses, then call the flight attendant.”

“Ask her politely to move her hair out of the way,” another Reddit user added.

Another commenter noted: “Start swiping aggressively across the screen while simultaneously pulling your hair.”

“I used to just stand up, get the person's attention and say, 'I'm not sure if you realize this, but your hair is all over my screen and my food tray.' Usually [the person] would apologize and that would be the end of it,” one user shared.

The user eventually added an update on the situation, noting, “I sat there for about 5 minutes and actually thought it was pretty funny,” to the person next to me.

“Then I decided I needed Reddit's opinion. Obviously, I don't make any life decisions without Reddit. So I took a picture and posted it. By that time, she had already moved her hair. It probably took 10-15 minutes,” the source concluded.

“I would say something like, 'Sorry, your gorgeous hair is getting in my coffee.'”

Former flight attendant and Florida etiquette expert Jacqueline Whitmore told Fox News Digital that approaching the situation politely is an act of kindness.

“Everything can be resolved if you communicate politely,” she noted.

An etiquette expert has advised passengers who may find themselves in a similar situation to politely address the person causing the inconvenience.

If the person did not change his behavior, Whitmore suggested contacting a flight attendant.

“I would say something like, 'Sorry, your gorgeous hair is getting in my coffee,'” she said, giving an example of how to handle the situation.

Whitmore stressed that it was important for passengers to be mindful of personal space, as respect for it was key during a flight.
