There will be a full moon this weekend, but unlike most others, it will only be visible on the eastern horizon at twilight twice.
The full moon will officially reach its full phase at 3:55 a.m. ET on Saturday, August 9, allowing North Americans to see the full moon rise twice in a row.
The best time to view the full moon is just after sunset, usually on the day of the official full moon. At this point, the full moon is not only fully illuminated, but also appears in the eastern sky when it is dark enough to be easily seen, while the landscape in front of it is still bathed in twilight light.
