Life after death: ‘It was Jesus Christ’ Man reveals extraordinary visit to the afterlife

LIFE after death is real, at least according to a man who claims to have met Jesus Christ in the afterlife during a near-death experience (NDE).

The man, who only gave his name as Keith, claims to have briefly visited the afterlife after taking drugs and dying in hospital. Keith shared his account with the Near-Death Experience Research Foundation, detailing the moment he left his physical body. According to Keith, he was sent flying down a long and dark tunnel before he saw Jesus Christ.

He said: “I remember leaving my body and rising up to the ceiling of the room.

“I saw the whole room and everyone working on me from the ceiling of the room.

“I was watching the heart monitor machine and saw that my heart had flat-lined.

“I saw that the hospital staff were trying to get my heart to start again.”

Then, Keith began flying down a long and curving tunnel.

As he flew through the tunnel, he felt “complete calmness” and his entire life flashed before his eyes.

After some time, he slowed down and began to see everyone he has ever hurt or helped.

Keith said: “Then a small pinhole light appeared at the end of the tunnel.

“As I got closer to it, the light got bigger and bigger.

“It was a brilliant white colour, but not blinding.

“There was a warm, loving feeling coming from it.

“I could not make out what it was though.”

Once he reached the end of the tunnel, Keith saw a figure emerge.

As he got closer to the figure, he realised it was Jesus.

He said: “As I got to the end of the tunnel, I was stopped by Jesus, who said, ‘It’s not your time.’

“He then reached his hand out and pushed me back to Earth.”

Keith then returned to his body and woke up in the hospital.

Although Keith believes his experience was genuine and some form of afterlife exists beyond the mortal realm, most medical experts believe there are natural explanations behind these visions.

Some experts believe the brain releases a psychedelic cocktail of chemicals during a moment of trauma that triggers hallucinations.

Others have proposed the visions are the result of the brain scanning itself as a survival technique.

According to Dr Sam Parnia, director of critical care and resuscitation research at NYU Langone School of Medicine in New York City, many NDE patients share similar memories.

He said during an OZ Talk: “People describe a sensation of a bright, warm, welcoming light that draws people towards it.

“They describe a sensation of experiencing their deceased relatives, almost as if they have come to welcome them.”
