Life after death: Man enters alternate reality in near-death experience – NDE

A MAN who suffered a near-death experience (NDE) claims to have left this realm we exist in and enter an “alternate reality”.

A person who gave his name as Scott was undergoing emergency surgery for a ruptured artery when he believes he died and crossed to the afterlife. Technically speaking, Scott’s heart stopped beating and he was clinically dead during the life-saving operation.

During this time, when Scott was technically dead, he believes he crossed into an afterlife where there were numerous invisible entities present.

Scott said he could communicate with said entities, who told him this place would be waiting for him when the time was right.

Writing on the Near-Death Experience Research Foundation (NDERF), Scott said: “I then left the earthly realm and entered into an alternate reality. I saw a lagoon that was surrounded by beautiful plants.

“Everything was soft to the touch. There were 4 or 5 entities who were present, but I could not see them.

“They assured me that everything would be all right and that I could leave anytime I wanted.

“They told me that this place was for me and it contained all the Unconditional Love I had for others and that they had for me.

“I did leave that place once but then came back. I asked why everything was soft and was told that the energy that binds matter here is that of Unconditional Love.

“I laid down and the ground. The energy embraced me and the profound healing power of Unconditional Love healed me.”

Since his operation, Scott has fully recovered but he has claimed to have an insight into the universe which not many people are privy to.

He added: “I feel I have gained great insight into the nature of the universe, life and its purpose.”

Some researchers, however, have said these visions are a normal phenomenon and not necessarily a sign of an afterlife.

Dr Sam Parnia, director of critical care and resuscitation research at NYU Langone School of Medicine in New York City, told an Oz Talk: “People describe a sensation of a bright, warm, welcoming light that draws people towards it.

“They describe a sensation of experiencing their deceased relatives, almost as if they have come to welcome them.

“They often say that they didn’t want to come back in many cases, it is so comfortable and it is like a magnet that draws them that they don’t want to come back.

“A lot of people describe a sensation of separating from themselves and watching doctors and nurses working on them.”

Dr Parnia said there are scientific explanations for the reaction, and says seeing people is not evidence of the afterlife, but more likely the brain just scanning itself as a survival technique.

He said thanks to modern technology and science “death does not have to be limited to philosophy and religion, but it can be explored through science”.

He added: “They can hear things and record all conversations that are going on around them.”
