Life after death: Man saw millions of angels in the afterlife – ‘They were singing’

LIFE after death “definitely exists” according to a man who claims to have witnessed heavenly choirs of angels in a near-death experience (NDE).

The man who only shared his name as Steve said he stopped breathing in his sleep and his circulation stopped. Steve initially dismissed the incident, which occurred in April 1993, as a vivid dream. He has since told the Near-Death Experience Research Foundation (NDERF) he died in his sleep and saw the afterlife due to years of chronic disease.

Steve said: “I have had a chronic disease my entire life, but was unaware of my issues at the time.

“I have Celiac Disease or an allergy to wheat that was causing inflammation throughout my body causing a number of issues.”

On the night of April 18, 1993, Steve said he stopped breathing in his sleep but has very detailed memories of walking down a dirt road in search of a fishing spot.

After finding a suitable location, Steve said he was suddenly wrestled to the ground by two angels.

Although he struggled against their grip, he could not set himself free.

Then, he saw a vortex “or two-dimensional swirl” open up to a “three-dimensional space in another realm”.

Steve said: “There was intense light that was blinding at first. As my eyes adjusted, I could start to understand what was happening.

“As this space opened up, it was like an inverted cone or funnel with the large end closest to me.”

Rather than fall into the space, Steve said the space moved towards him and consumed him.

Inside of the space, the man was confronted with a multitude of angels.

He said: “There were thousands, or maybe millions of thems. I could only see their upper torso area and heads, but I did not focus on them as there was something even more important going on.

“The angels were singing this unbelievable music, in a tone or octave that isn’t possible with human voices.”

According to Steve, the heavenly choir was singing praise to God.

But Steve is not the only person who claims to have had a profound experience on the death bed and many researchers consider similar visions to have natural explanations.

According to Dr Sam Parnia, director of critical care and resuscitation research at NYU Langone School of Medicine in New York City, many NDEs are characterised by visions of light, sounds and memories of supernatural beings.

He said during an OZ Talk: “People describe a sensation of a bright, warm, welcoming light that draws people towards it.

“They describe a sensation of experiencing their deceased relatives, almost as if they have come to welcome them.

“They often say that they didn’t want to come back in many cases, it is so comfortable and it is like a magnet that draws them that they don’t want to come back.

“A lot of people describe a sensation of separating from themselves and watching doctors and nurses working on them.”

In the UK, the NHS does not consider NDEs to be genuine instances of a person dying.

The NHS said: “The existence of an ‘afterlife’ remains a matter of belief, not scientific proof.”
