Brainteasers are key to maintaining neurological sharpness by exercising the mind through a variety of fun and engaging challenges.
Brainteasers are a great way to stretch the mind and push the brain to its limits in a fun and engaging way.
They can come in come in many different forms, but the three main types of brainteasers are observational, analytical, and mathematical.
Mathematical brainteasers pose a difficult maths-based question to the user whilst analytical brainteasers often come in the form of a written riddle that people have to try and wrap their heads around.
In observational brainteasers, like the one above shared by Jagran Josh, there is a graphic filled with different objects and the person’s task is to find the anomaly in the image.
Can you find the odd object out in this tricky brainteaser?

Did you spot the anomaly in this brainteaser? No worries if not, the answer is circled above. The key with this brainteaser was to work out which object wasn’t part of a pair.
In this case, the part of the graphic running solo was the yoghurt pot circled in the top right-hand corner.
The most effective way to solve this brainteaser is to carefully scan the image from top to bottom to assess which objects were in pairs and which weren’t.
Brainteasers such as this one are a great way to exercise the mind in the same way running or cycling are effective methods of exercising the muscles in the arms and legs.

This exercise contributes to overall neurological health as it helps to keep the mind sharp. Maintaining neurological health is especially important in the long term if someone is to reduce their risk of developing a disease like dementia.
This doesn’t mean that brainteasers will stop someone from developing dementia, other risk factors can have a much bigger impact, but it could help sustain neurological sharpness.
Dementia is one of the most devastating conditions in the UK, one which strips people of their lives and families of their loved ones every single year.
Although new treatments have been developed, there is as yet no cure for any form of dementia. According to a recent UCL study, there could be as many as 1.7million dementia patients in the UK by the year 2040.
