We all have our own preferences when it comes to treating a cold. For some, it's sipping tomato soup under the covers, while others prefer cough drops and a pack of tissues.
While we may not have blanket-sized tissues to offer, a canned soup company has introduced something completely unique: soup-flavored cough drops.
Yes, it really is. One gourmet even said he would “rather get sick” than try Progresso “Soup Drop” again. However, the company announced yesterday that all batches are sold out.
“Well, this is pretty embarrassing… our Soup Drops sold out before we could even announce it,” the brand wrote on Instagram.
“But don't worry, there's a new batch of suckable soup coming next Thursday.”
If you think this is just a crazy dream, we regret to inform you that it is absolutely real.

Progresso owner and one of the largest food companies in the US, General Mills, announced the launch of a limited edition product yesterday. (Yes, that means it sold out in just a few hours.)
“What is a Soup Drop? It's, of course, a soup you can suck on!” a General Mills spokesman said.
The company claims the chicken noodle soup-flavored drops feature the aroma of broth, spicy vegetables, tender egg noodles and a hint of parsley.
Each package costs $2.49 and contains 20 lozenges.
The main component of the lollipops is isomalt, a sugar substitute that is often used in sugar-free sweets, as well as chicken meat powder and chicken fat.
The sweet candies were released in celebration of National Soup Month, which coincides with the peak of flu season, and will be available for purchase online every Thursday through the end of the month.

“When you’re sick, nothing soothes you like chicken noodle soup,” said M.K. Comings, vice president and chief brand officer for Progresso at General Mills.
“So,” we thought, “why limit ourselves to just a bowl of soup?”
However, Danny Lee, writing for The Takeout, expressed a wish for the company to focus solely on the soup.
“I put the delicious lozenge in my mouth and spat it out almost instantly,” he shared.
“I don't know what I expected, but it certainly wasn't this.”
