Juice the dog patiently waited for 10 months while his kennel brothers and sisters were adopted one by one – but now finally his day has come.
An adorable dog has made a remarkable transformation after being adopted.
Mixed breed Juice, who spent 10 months at Montgomery County Animal Services and Adoption Center in Maryland, USA, has finally found his forever home after a heart-wrenching wait.
Juice watched as his kennel mates were adopted one by one, leaving him behind until rescue workers noticed him crying day in day out, a sign that the stress of shelter life was taking its toll. A staff member remarked, “For a long time, Juice was the example we used as a dog who could manage the stress of shelter life without getting depressed. But in the past month that changed – he started to lose his confidence.”
The situation worsened when Juice was briefly adopted but returned shortly after, leading to increased signs of distress. “It wasn’t the right match, and after a couple of days, he was back in his kennel, more stressed than ever. Staff began to notice him crying, panting, and pacing more frequently.”
In an attempt to alleviate his anxiety, one staff member took Juice home overnight, but his return to the kennel resulted in even more crying. “One of our staff took him home for a sleepover to give him a break from the shelter and try to help him relax. But when she brought him back in the morning and put him back in the kennel, he started crying and didn’t stop all day,” they explained.

Fearing for Juice’s well-being, the shelter made a desperate appeal on Facebook, pleading for someone to adopt the increasingly despondent canine.
And thanks to his loveable and goofy nature, Juice quickly stole hearts online. The shelter was soon inundated with adoption applications for the adorable canine, and within days, Juice found his forever home. Four months on, Juice is thriving in his new home. He’s lost weight and is even preparing to try weight pulls as a new activity.
